(Sports Network) - Jeremy Guthrie tries to pitch the Baltimore Orioles to their third straight win and a series victory this evening when they wrap up a four-game set against the Minnesota Twins at Camden Yards. Baltimore had lost eight straight games following a setback in Mondays series opener. However, the Orioles have rebounded with back-to-back wins and on Wednesday secured at least a split in the set, as Vladimir Guerrero went 2- for-4 with a home run to lead Baltimore to a 5-4 win. Zach Britton (3-1) lasted six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three. I wasnt happy with the walks, especially with the 5-1 lead and you put guys on base and it ends up being a close game like that. I wasnt happy with the way I necessarily performed, but we scored a lot of runs which kept us in the game which was good, said Britton. Nick Blackburn (1-3) pitched seven innings, yielding five runs on seven hits and one walk and struck out four to take the loss. Danny Valencia went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Twins, who have lost eight of their last 11 and are the only team in the league that has not scored more than five runs in a game this season. With Joe Mauer already on the disabled list, Minnesota continued to play without Justin Morneau, who has missed four games with the flu, and Delmon Young, who is also sick. Both Morneau and Young are questionable for tonights finale. Guthrie toes the rubber for the Os tonight searching for his first win since an Opening Day gem that saw him toss eight scoreless innings. Guthrie, though, spent some time in the hospital with pneumonia shortly after that outing and has returned to lose two starts, including a dreadful effort his last time out. Against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday Guthrie was hit for six runs and 10 hits in five innings and saw his ERA jump to 3.32 on the year. He didnt have the finish on some of his pitches like he usually does, Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of Guthrie. Guthrie has had some success against the Twins and is 3-0 with a 3.03 ERA in six games, four of which have been starts. Minnesota, meanwhile, will hand the ball to right-hander Scott Baker, who is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA. Baker did not get a decision on Saturday against Tampa Bay, despite allowing just a run and four hits in seven innings of a 4-3 loss. As good as Guthrie has been in this matchup Baker has been even better, going 5-0 with a 2.53 ERA in seven starts against the Orioles.
