Fortunately, the Canadian women are on a roll after a struggling early in the event. They came out on top of two must-win games Thursday -- defeating South Korea 9-2 before handing defending champion Andrea Scheopp of Germany an 8-6 loss. "Weve enjoyed the last few games," said Holland. "Weve definitely been a lot more comfortable after our rough start. We forgot about that and went out to have some fun." Sweden (9-2) and China (8-3) clinched the top two playoff spots. With a 7-4 record, Canada finished alongside Denmark and Switzerland. The Danes had the best record in head-to-head matchups to claim third place, leaving Canada and Switzerland to meet in a playoff game for fourth on Friday afternoon. The Canadian team needed to win six of its final seven games just to advance past the round robin. The last of those wins came against Germany in a game tied 4-4 at the midway point. Holland scored one in the seventh and stole two more in the eighth after an umpires measure. The teams then traded single points in the final two ends. "I felt that we struggled a little bit in the middle ends there but we finished up strong, so that was really important," said Holland. "We needed to put the pressure on at the end, but she put a lot of pressure on, too. "She made a lot of good shots, and made a lot of good shots early, but I didnt expect any different."
