MARANELLO, Italy -- Ferrari dropped its plans to appeal a pass F1 champion Sebastian Vettel made at the Brazilian Grand Prix after receiving clarification from Formula Ones governing body on Friday. Ferrari was considering an appeal after video from Sundays race appeared to show that Vettel passed Jean-Eric Vergne while a yellow caution light was on. "The request for a clarification from the FIA came about through the need to shed light on the circumstances of the move, which came out on the Internet only a few days after the race," Ferrari said in a statement. "The letter to the FIA was in no way intended to undermine the legality of the race result. "We received tens of thousands of queries relating to this matter from all over the world and it was incumbent on us to take the matter further, asking the federation to look into an incident that could have cast a shadow over the championship in the eyes of all Formula 1 enthusiasts, not just Ferrari fans. Ferrari duly takes note of the reply sent by the FIA this morning and therefore considers the matter now closed." If a rules breach had been proven, Vettel would have been hit with a 20-second penalty, moving him from sixth place to eighth in the race and giving Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso the F1 title by one point. Alonso finished second in the race at Interlagos, but Vettels sixth place was enough to give him his third straight F1 title by three points. The 25-year-old German became F1s youngest three-time champion. Vettel appeared to be in big trouble when he was bumped shortly after the start of the race and spun. He dropped to last place before he could turn his car around and begin to chase the leaders. He steadily worked his way up the field despite a slightly damaged car and no radio communication. It was during Vettels climb back through the field that the alleged illegal overtake of Vergne occurred. When there is a yellow caution flag or light, it signals danger on the track and drivers must slow down and not overtake. If a driver does overtake, he is penalized with a drive-thru or a 20-second penalty in the final results if the infraction is discovered after the race is over. wholesale nfl jerseys china . - The Kansas City Chiefs have traded cornerback Javier Arenas to the Arizona Cardinals for fullback Anthony Sherman. cheap jerseys .Y. -- After playing 12 consecutive one-goal games against the Rochester Americans this season, the Toronto Marlies finally won in convincing fashion to move onto the next round of the American Hockey League playoffs. www.wholesalenfljerseyscheap.com/ .ca mixed martial arts rankings. Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Nick Spaling scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, as the Nashville Predators won their first playoff series in franchise history with a 4-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 6 of this Western Conference quarterfinal. Spaling also lit the lamp in the first period for the Predators, who won in overtime in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead. Steve Sullivan and David Legwand also scored. Pekka Rinne made 25 saves for Nashville, which entered the NHL as an expansion club in 1998. The Predators also won the sixth game of a series for the first time, while the Ducks fell to 7-2 all-time in Game 6s. Nick Spaling is not known for scoring a lot goals, but there he is scoring big goals, Nashville head coach Barry Trotz said. This series sort of symbolized how the Predators play in a lot of ways. To win this series, we needed everybody and everybody contributed. Teemu Selanne and Jason Blake found the back of the net for the Ducks, who got 26 saves from Ray Emery. With the score tied at 2-2, Nashville had a goal waved off 1:53 into the third. A shot from the left point was deflected in by Patric Hornqvist, but his stick was above the crossbar. The refs confirmed it was no goal after a review. The Bridgestone Arena crowd got to cheer for real at the 4:53 mark. Jordin Tootoo charged down the left side of the ice and made his way in front of Emery, who poked the puck away. Spaling was right there to put the puck into the back of the net. The Ducks went on the power play at the 7:48 mark, but Rinne kept it a 3-2 game. Anaaheim pulled Emery with about 1 1/2 minutes to play for the extra attacker.dddddddddddd The Ducks, though, were called for a penalty in the final 38 seconds. Legwand scored on the empty net to send the fourth-seeded Ducks packing. Selanne kept his stellar play in the postseason going with a goal at the 10:22 mark of the first period. The 40-year-old winger carried the puck around the net and beat Rinne with a backhander for his sixth goal of the series. Nobody tried harder, nobody cared more, nobody did more in this series than Teemu Selanne, Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle said. The Ducks seemed to be in prime position to win, considering the team who scored the first goal won each of the previous five games. The Predators made it a 1-1 game with 27.9 seconds to go in the opening frame. Anaheim turned the puck over behind its own net and Tootoo found the loose disc. He made a nice pass to the slot for Spaling, whose wrister beat Emery. Sullivan put Nashville ahead at the 3:29 mark of the middle stanza. J.P. Dumont led a charge into the Anaheim zone and passed to his right. Sullivan gathered the puck, made a nice move in front, and slid a backhander past Emery. The Ducks converted on their first power play of the game to make it a 2-2 contest. Bobby Ryan fired a shot on net from the top of the left circle that Blake deflected past Rinne.
